Chris Painter
Health Economist
About:
Chris Painter’s research focuses on using health economics and health technology assessment (HTA) methods to inform resource allocation policy decisions and maximise the use of limited healthcare resources. He applies these methods to a wide range of communicable and non-communicable diseases.
At SSHSPH his research aims to understand the dynamics of pathogens in Southeast Asia within the context of changing landscapes, demographics, and urbanization while developing context-relevant interventions for disease control. Chris’ current work primarily focusses on the economics of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), diagnostics, febrile illness and other tropical diseases.
